Dr. R. K. Srivastava is one of India's most respected orthopedic surgery and Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (PMR) specialist, with over five decades of distinguished clinical,teaching and administrative experience. A former Director General of Health Services (DGHS), Government of India, and former Chairman of the Board of Governors, Medical Council of India (MCI), he has played a pivotal role in shaping India's health policy, public healthcare and medical education system. As a advisor to WISH Foundation, he was extensively involved with innovation, digital health, AI powered tools for improving access to healthcare in order to reach to last mile person in India. As advisor to DG, ICMR, he was able to facilitate establishing research system for impairment, disability, rehabilitation and Assistive technology in India and a unit of HTA in DHR. His expertise spans over full spectrum of orthopaedics and rehabilitation medicine, disability management, bone and joint injuries, musculoskeletal disorders, neurorehabilitation, cardiac rehabilitation, pulmonary rehabilitation, cancer rehabilitation and pediatric rehabilitation. His expertise also involve in establishing medical education system and skill training. He has vast experience in guiding medical research. Use and application of tele-medicine and tech health solution in domiciliary care and close to community care had been widely experimented by him and he can built similar system in urban health care. Throughout his career, Dr. Srivastava has remained committed to improving patient outcomes through evidence-based holistic health care and medical education. Having held senior leadership positions at prestigious institutions such as Safdarjung Hospital & VMMC, he has mentored generations of healthcare professionals while strengthening India's public health services, medical education and medical research.
